January 19, 1992 – WWF Royal Rumble ’92
The vacant WWF Title is on the line in the Royal Rumble match, with 30 top stars vying for the championship. Ric Flair draws #3 in the match and manages to survive until the end, last eliminating Sid Justice-with the help of Hulk Hogan, who Justice had just eliminated-to win the match and capture his first WWF Championship. Roddy Piper also wins his first title in the WWF by beating The Mountie to take the Intercontinental Title, which Mountie had won in an upset over Bret Hart just two days earlier. The WWF Tag Team Title is also on the line, as champions The Legion of Doom retain their title despite losing by countout to The Natural Disasters.

February 1, 1992 – Smoky Mountain Wrestling #1

Feb. 29, 1992 – WCW SuperBrawl II
The long rivalry between Sting and Lex Luger comes to a head as Sting defeats Luger to capture the WCW World Championship in Luger’s final WCW match. Another title changes hands when Brian Pillman pins Jushin Liger to regain the WCW Light Heavyweight Title. WCW U.S. Champion Rick Rude gets an assist from Paul E. Dangerously – disguised as Ricky Steamboat’s manager The Ninja – to defeat Steamboat in a title match. WCW World Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton also keep their belts in a controversial match against The Steiners that sees Scott Steiner pin Bobby Eaton, but the decision is reversed due to Rick Steiner accidentally hitting the referee before the fall, causing a disqualification.

March 15, 1992 – WCW Main Event
In a four-man tournament to determine the number one contender for the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship, Johnny B. Badd pins Richard Morton and Tracy Smothers gets a disqualification win over Brad Armstrong in the first round. Later in the hour, Badd pins Smothers to earn a future shot at champion Brian Pillman. Also in action are WCW World Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton, who defeat Joey Maggs & Johnny Rich.

March 22, 1992 – WCW Main Event
Following a recent attack by Terrence Taylor & Greg Valentine, Z-Man gets a measure of revenge by defeating Valentine. Sting also responds to his recent attack at the hands of Big Van Vader, vowing to put his WCW World Title on the line against Vader. Other matches include Ricky Steamboat pinning Diamond Dallas Page and Ron Simmons beating Steve Armstrong.

March 29, 1992 – WCW Main Event
On a special 90-minute episode, two championships are on the line. WCW TV Champion Steve Austin retains his title on a disqualification loss to Barry Windham when Larry Zbyszko interferes, bringing out Dustin Rhodes to even the odds. WCW U.S. Tag Team Champions Terrance Taylor & Greg Valentine also retain their belts by defeating Z-Man & Marcus Bagwell. A match between Arn Anderson and Ricky Steamboat gets out of control when Paul E. Dangerously ends up in the ring, where Steamboat gets a measure of revenge on him. Rick Rude comes in to rescue Dangerously, but Steamboat fights off Rude as well.

April 5, 1992 – WCW Main Event
On a special two-hour edition of The Main Event, The Dangerous Alliance team of Rick Rude, Steve Austin and Arn Anderson battle Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes. Steamboat appears ready to get the pin when Austin hits him with a chair, causing a disqualification. In singles action, Rick Steiner pins WCW Tag Team Champion Bobby Eaton. WCW U.S. Tag Team Champions Terrence Taylor & Greg Valentine again successfully defend their title, defeating The Patriots.

April 5, 1992 – Wrestlemania VIII (Coliseum Video/Wrestlemania Anthology DVD)
Randy Savage gets his revenge on Ric Flair for Flair’s comments about Elizabeth when Savage pins the bloody champion to capture his second WWF World Title. In the other main event match, Hulk Hogan wins by disqualification over Sid Justice when Papa Shango interferes, but The Ultimate Warrior makes a surprise return to help Hogan. In a match between old friends, Bret Hart regains the WWF Intercontinental Championship by pinning Roddy Piper. WWF Tag Team Champions Money Inc. retain their titles against The Natural Disasters when they get themselves counted out, but former champions The Legion of Doom also return to the WWF and make it known that they want their title back. In a match of former partners, The Undertaker pins Jake Roberts after a Tombstone piledriver, ending Roberts’ WWF career.

April 12, 1992 – WCW Main Event
WCW finally allows the graphic footage to be shown of a recent bout between Ricky Steamboat and Bobby Eaton that ends when Madusa interferes and slaps Steamboat, who instinctively slaps her back. He tries to apologize but the Dangerous Alliance attacks and throws him to the floor, where Rick Rude repeatedly bashes Steamboat’s face into the concrete in a scene censored by WCW. Other matches include Arn Anderson pinning Brad Armstrong and Dustin Rhodes & Barry Windham beating Vinnie Vegas & Dallas Page.

April 19, 1992 – WCW Main Event
The unique pairing of Rick Rude and Big Van Vader join forces in a dominant victory over The Patriots. WCW World Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton defeat Ron Simmons & Big Josh after Anderson hits Josh with Paul E. Dangerously’s phone. It is also announced that WCW Champion Sting has suffered a serious injury during a match a week earlier at The Omni against Big Van Vader.

April 26, 1992 – WCW Main Event
In light heavyweight action, Z-Man defeats Scotty Flamingo by disqualification when J.T. Southern interferes, bringing out Marcus Bagwell to make the save. Eric Bischoff conducts an interview with Sting where the he announces that he suffered a broken rib in a title match against Big Van Vader and will be out of action for 3 weeks. In his absence, it is announced that Nikita Koloff  has volunteered to fill in for Sting. Koloff also returns to the ring with a win over Steve Armstrong.

May 3, 1992 – WCW Main Event
Following the interference in the previous week’s main event, Scotty Flamingo and J.T. Southern team up against Z-Man and Marcus Bagwell, with Z-Man and Bagwell getting the win when Bagwell pins Southern. WCW U.S. Tag Team Champions Greg Valentine & Terrence Taylor get a victory over the team of Junkyard Dog & Brad Armstrong when Taylor pins Armstrong. Also shown is footage from a press conference announcing that WCW will host a tournament to crown new NWA World Tag Team Champions.

May 10, 1992 – WCW Main Event
Heading into War Games, Ricky Steamboat joins forces with Nikita Koloff to defeat Dangerous Alliance members Bobby Eaton & Larry Zbyszko in the main event when Steamboat pins Zbyszko with a flying crossbody. The remaining Dangerous Alliance members – Rick Rude, Steve Austin and Arn Anderson – are victorious in a six-man tag over Z-Man, Marcus Bagwell & Brad Armstrong. It is also announced that on May 3 in Chicago, The Steiners defeated Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton in a cage match to capture the WCW World Tag Team Title.

Just prior to WrestleWar, Nikita Koloff and Bobby Eaton square off in a singles match, which Nikita wins with the Russian Sickle. Z-Man is also in action with a victory over Diamond Dallas Page.

May 17, 1992 – WCW WrestleWar ’92 (includes countdown show)
WCW World Champion Sting returns from his rib injury to join his allies for the culmination of their feud against the Dangerous Alliance in War Games. In a brutal, bloody match, the team of Sting, Ricky Steamboat, Nikita Koloff, Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes defeat Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton & Larry Zbyszko when Zbyszko ultimately submits to an armbar. WCW World Tag Team Champions The Steiner Brothers earn a shot at the IWGP Tag Team Title in Japan by defeating the team of Tatsumi Fujinami & Takayuki Iizuka. In a battle of former tag team partners, WCW Light Heavyweight Champion Brian Pillman retains his title by pinning the Z-Man, while The Freebirds capture the WCW U.S. Tag Team Title with a victory over Greg Valentine & Terrence Taylor.

May 24, 1992 – WCW Main Event
Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes square off against Cactus Jack & Abdullah the Butcher in a match that gets out of control, resulting in both teams being counted out when the brawl spills onto the floor. In another tag team match, Ricky Steamboat & Nikita Koloff team up to defeat Richard Morton & Tracy Smothers. A top 10 challenge match sees #1 contender Rick Rude, whose U.S. Title is not on the line, defeat #10 ranked contender Terrence Taylor.

May 31, 1992 – WCW Main Event
A special two-hour edition of The Main Event sees Big Van Vader take on Nikita Koloff, who brings Dusty Rhodes to the ring to counteract the presence of Harley Race, in a top 10 challenge match. Rhodes and Race fight to the locker room while Vader controls most of the match, but Koloff battles back and the match spills to the floor, ending in a double countout. In another top 10 match, Ricky Steamboat pins Cactus Jack. Also on the show, Ron Simmons battles Greg Valentine to a draw, The Freebirds defeat Richard Morton & Dallas Page, and Steve Williams & Terry Gordy return with a dominant victory heading into the NWA Tag Team Tournament.

June 14, 1992 – WCW Main Event
Footage is shown from WCW Saturday Night of the introduction of new WCW Vice President Bill Watts, who introduces Ole Anderson as a new troubleshooting referee and announces several rules changes, including the banning of moves off the top rope. In the main event, Ricky Steamboat battles Steve Austin to a time limit draw, while both The Steiners and The Freebirds gain tag team wins leading up to the NWA World Tag Team Title Tournament.

June 20, 1992 – WCW Beach Blast (PPV Version & Turner Home Entertainment version)
In a non-title 30-minute Iron Man Match, WCW U.S. Champion Rick Rude takes an early 3-1 lead over Ricky Steamboat, but Steamboat fights back to tie the match and gets a final pin in the last minute to win the bout 4-3. The first meeting between WCW World Tag Team Champions The Steiners and challengers Steve Williams & Terry Gordy sees the challengers dominate the bulk of the match, but the contest ends in a draw after 30 minutes. In a Falls Count Anywhere match, WCW World Champion Sting defeats Cactus Jack. In the opening match, Scotty Flamingo pins Brian Pillman to capture the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship, while the trio of Dustin Rhodes, Barry Windham & Nikita Koloff win by disqualification over Steve Austin, Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton.

June 21, 1992 – WCW Main Event
WCW U.S. Champion Rick Rude capitalizes on the help of Madusa and the use of his title belt to pin Dustin Rhodes in the final match of the top 10 contenders tournament. Footage is also shown from Worldwide Wrestling of Rude’s fellow Dangerous Alliance member Steve Austin defeating Barry Windham to regain the WCW TV Title.

June 28, 1992 – WCW Main Event
WCW U.S. Tag Team Champions The Freebirds battle Marcus Bagwell & Z-Man in a match that ends in a 10-minute time limit draw. Following an altercation on WCW Saturday Night, Brian Pillman gets a pinfall victory over Tracy Smothers. Also in action is Nikita Koloff, who after turning down an offer to join the Dangerous Alliance makes a challenge to U.S. Champion Rick Rude, and Ron Simmons, who after a victory gets into a brawl with Harley Race and the Super Invader.

July 4, 1992 – WCW Saturday Night
Tensions heat up between WCW U.S. Champion Rick Rude and top contender Nikita Koloff. Both men get singles victories, with Koloff defeating Tracy Smothers and Rude pinning Jimmy Garvin, but the show ends with Rude challenging Koloff and the two fighting in the ring. WCW TV Champion successfully defends his title with a win over Michael Hayes, but afterward he calls out Barry Windham, who gets the better of Austin in an unsanctioned fight. Also in action are Dick Slater & Greg Valentine, who defeat Marcus Bagwell & Big Josh. Bill Watts makes a big announcement about the tag team division, saying that he plans to consolidate titles and will begin by retiring the U.S. Tag Team Championship at the end of July.

July 5, 1992 – WCW Main Event
Leading up to their rematch at the Omni, both WCW World Tag Team Champions The Steiners and Steve Williams & Terry Gordy are in action and both teams score dominant victories. Also debuting is the new tandem of Dick Slater & The Barbarian, who are victorious in their first match. The show also includes the Brian Pillman-Scotty Flamingo match from Beach Blast.

July 12, 1992 – WCW Main Event
Just weeks before the titles are retired, the team of Dick Slater & The Barbarian defeat The Freebirds when Slater pins Michael Hayes to capture the WCW U.S. Tag Team Title. Also in action leading up to the Great American Bash are Ron Simmons and the Super Invader.

July 12, 1992 – WCW Great American Bash ’92
Sting and Big Van Vader meet in a showdown for the WCW World Title, with Vader getting the better of the champion and using the power bomb to score the upset pin and capture the title. The NWA World Tag Team Title Tournament concludes with three quarterfinal and two semifinal matches, leading into the tournament final. The final match sees WCW World Tag Team Champions Steve Williams & Terry Gordy defeat Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes to win the tournament and unify the two world tag team championships.

July 20, 1992 – Randy Savage & Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair & Shawn Michaels (Coliseum Video Grudges, Gripes & Grunts)
WWF Champion Randy Savage teams with WWF Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart to take on their two top contenders in a tag team match, which sees Ric Flair & Shawn Michaels use double team moves to control most of the match. The match eventually gets out of control and while Hart and Flair fight on the floor, Savage takes advantage of a miscommunication between Michaels and Sensational Sherri to pin Michaels with a rollup.

July 20, 1992 – WWF World Tag Team Title: Money Inc. vs. The Natural Disasters (Coliseum Video Grudges, Gripes & Grunts)
After months of retaining their title by walking out of the ring and being intentionally counted out, Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster finally lose the championship to The Natural Disasters when Schyster accidentally hits DiBiase with his briefcase, allowing Earthquake to get the pin and win the Tag Team Title.

Sept. 2, 1992 – WCW Clash of the Champions XX
WCW celebrates 20 years of wrestling on TBS with a black tie affair featuring many legends and showcasing classic footage. In the main event, the team of Rick Rude, Jake Roberts, Big Van Vader & The Super Invader defeat Sting, Nikita Koloff & The Steiners in an elimination match. Sting is the last man on his team, left to face Rude, Roberts and Vader. After suplexing Rude, Sting is hit with a splash off the top rope by Vader, who is disqualified for coming off the top. Roberts then DDTs Sting for the pin, leaving he and Rude as the winners. WCW World Champion Ron Simmons retains his title with a win over Cactus Jack, who then unveils a new weapon against Simmons, his former partner Butch Reed. The Barbarian and Reed then team up to defeat Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes. In a no disqualification match, Ricky Steamboat pins Steve Austin with a flying bodypress to capture the WCW World TV Title. The planned WCW Light Heavyweight Title match between Brad Armstrong and Brian Pillman is cancelled because Armstrong is injured, leading to Bill Watts declaring the title vacant and an angry Pillman attacking Armstrong. Among the legends in attendance is Andre the Giant, in what would be his final televised appearance.

Sept. 5, 1992 – WCW Saturday Night
With their new adviser Michael Hayes at ringside, the team of Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton score a surprising upset win over The Steiners in a #1 contenders match. The new trio, each of whom represents a famous team from the 1980s, promises to take out Steve Williams & Terry Gordy thanks to Hayes’ insight on his former Freebird partner Gordy. In six-man action, Johnny B. Badd, Z-Man and Marcus Bagwell defeat Scotty Flamingo, Dick Slater and Greg Valentine.

September 23, 1992 – New Japan Battle Hold Arena

November 8, 1992 – WWF Saturday Night’s Main Event #31 (broadcast and WWE 24/7 versions)
The team of Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior prepare for Survivor Series by challenging WWF Tag Team Champions Money Inc., who retain the titles by walking out of the match and getting counted out. Shawn Michaels captures his first championship in the WWF, pinning Davey Boy Smith to win the Intercontinental Title. New WWF Champion Bret Hart also puts his title on the line, beating Papa Shango. The show would mark the final appearances of Warrior and Smith, who were both released by the WWF, and would be the last episode of the original run of the Saturday Night’s Main Event series.

November 23, 1992 – Ric Flair vs. Tatanka (Coliseum Video Grudges, Gripes & Grunts)
In a match taped in Erie, Pennsylvania, Ric Flair holds the advantage over Tatanka and appears to have the match won with the figure four, but Tatanka fights back and both men tumble out of the ring, where the match ends in a double countout. Afterward Flair puts the figure four on again, this time on the floor, but Mr. Perfect comes to ringside to break it up.

November 25, 1992 – WWF Survivor Series ’92
In a battle of champions, WWF Champion Bret Hart retains his title with a victory over WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels, whose title is not on the line. Mr. Perfect returns to the ring for the first time in more than a year to team with Randy Savage against Ric Flair and Razor Ramon. The match turns into a wild brawl, with Savage and Perfect winning by disqualification. In other bouts, The Undertaker defeats Kamala in a casket match and Big Bossman gets revenge on Nailz by winning a nightstick match.

December 21, 1992 – WWF Prime Time Wrestling Christmas Special

Dec. 26, 1992 – Brian Pillman & Barry Windham vs. Johnny Gunn & Z-Man (WCW Saturday Night, Brian Pillman: Loose Cannon DVD)
In preparation for their upcoming World Tag Team Title shot at Starrcade, Pillman & Windham make short work of Gunn & Z-Man, defeating them in five minutes when Windham pins Gunn after a lariat.
