The entire world changed in the spring of 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic forced industries to shut down and people to cease their normal activities. Most forms of live entertainment were put on hold, but wrestling found a way to press on. Running in small empty buildings in front of no fans, the presentation of national pro wrestling in 2020 was something never before seen. It also allowed for the creation of the cinematic match, making wrestling resemble a movie more than a sport. As the pandemic wore on, wrestling companies adapted and found innovative new ways to present their product.
